Decorate Your Garden with Terra Cotta People

I spotted Clay Pot-People a number of years ago at a regional gift show and loved them on sight. Unfortunately at the time, the inventors were looking for large distributor partnerships and I was unable to bring a smaller quantity into my store for resale. I’ve found them again and yes, they are available for retail! Clay Pot-People™ are whimsical figures made from combining those inexpensive, standard terra cotta pots of various sizes.

Legend has it that Annie Bones (yes, that’s her name), was driving along a country road in Indiana a few years back when she spotted her first Clay Pot-Person and tried to make her own. After several failed attempts to make one the old-fashioned way, she developed Annie’s Bag-of-Bones™, a new, patent-pending product. With the Bag of Bones kit, an assortment of clay pots and a sturdy chair for the figurine, anyone can assemble a Clay Pot-Person™ in less than one hour.

The Annie’s Bag-of-Bones™ kit ($19.99) consists of nine segmented bones and thirty-five discs as well as a total of thirty-one terra cotta pots to build your own personalized Clay Pot Person. You’ll also need a decorative plant for the “head” – the leaves become the hair! They can be made in different shapes and sizes from kid-sized versions to seasonal figurines and animals. Complete illustrated directions are included. Once complete, they can be propped up in the midst of your garden, on a front porch rocking chair or on a bench under a shady tree. One thing’s for certain – they’ll make you smile every time you spot them… and isn’t that just worth its weight in clay?
